election petition : In Iran, a petition, in a prescribed form, complaining of an irregularity at one or more polling stations to the undue benefit or prejudice of a candidate for majlis, city council, or president. In England, a petition complaining of an undue return of a member to serve in parliament. Such petition, in a prescribed form, must be presented in the Queen’s Bench Division, to be tried by two judges on the rota [Election Judges].
